Hornsby used dead woman’s credit card. That’s disgusting! Your thoughts?

Kooties_ 2000 asked:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A Florida football player was kicked off the team Friday after turning himself in on charges he used the gas credit card of a woman who was killed along with another player in a motorcycle accident.

Jamar Hornsby has been kicked off the Florida football team.
Jamar Hornsby, a 21-year-old junior safety, learned Thursday that a judge had issued a warrant for his arrest on charges he used the dead woman’s gas card for six months, so he surrendered on charges of credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, lawyer Huntley Johnson said.

Hornsby was released from jail several hours later on his own recognizance.

It was not immediately clear how Hornsby got the card. Johnson declined to comment on the specifics of the case, but said they would cooperate with authorities.

The credit card belonged to Ashley Slonina, a Florida junior. She was riding a motorcycle with another football player, redshirt freshman Michael Guilford, last October that hit a median at a high rate of speed, police said. The two died at the scene. They were not wearing helmets.

Hornsby started using the gas card the day after Slonina died. The card was used 33 times in Alachua County and another 37 times in Jacksonville, where Hornsby is from. The total amount was $3,000, said Alachua County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Stephen Maynard.

“I would love to hear the explanation for utilizing the card of a deceased person,” Maynard said.

The sheriff’s office will continue to investigate and forward their findings to the State Attorney’s Office, Maynard said.

Florida coach Urban Meyer said in a statement that Hornsby “is not part of our program.”

Hornsby missed five games last season after being suspended for selling free football tickets he received as a student. He was also arrested in April 2007 after a fight in Gainesville, but his lawyer said those charges were dropped.

State prosecutors did not return phone messages or e-mails seeking comment.
Not only was that sick and pretty disgusting but that was universally stupid! ( o _ 0 ) Come on Hornsby! Where’s your freakin’ head at? Nimrodski!

Parents Is it Acceptable for Your Older Children/College Age?

Answer Girl 2007 asked:

to live at home rent free; as long as they are working and/or going to school and be respectful of the rules/helping w/ chores.

I find it odd that so many parents kids there kids out at 18 or charge them money to live at home.

I think paying rent toparents does not always equate 100% financial responsiblity when they finally leave the nest.

Don’t you think they can learn equal responsiblity from paying car loans or student loans?

Do any parents not charge their children to live at home, but do expect them to work/go to school and pay for personal belongs(clothing, cars, gas, credit cards, etc) and activities.
Sorry, Edit:

So many parents Kick their kids out…

Someone keeps calling me trying to get my personal information what do I do?

SadToday22 asked:

These 2 companies (they could be the same acctually) keep calling my cell phone and telling me that either a credit or debit card I have that ends in XXXX wants to reward me with a free gas card & cash. It’s a total scam because they keep asking for my husband too, but by his nickname, not his legal name and the the four XXXX #s are not on any of our credit cards. I know it’s a TOTAL SCAM but who and how do I report it? My caller ID gives me a phone # for one of them (who proptly hang up when I refuse to let them speak to my husband) and the other comes up on my caller ID as 0000000000. I did call my cell phone provider and they stated the cannot trace it. How do I report this?

Here’s my finances.any suggestions?

Letslearn asked:

I’m just a few years out of college so don’t be too tough on me.
First I take home $2,865 every two weeks, I bought a house this past summer, I paid 275 for it and put down 105K and borrowed $170K..my P.I.T.I is $1,490. I don’t have a car payment, I drive a ‘96 Toyota with 210K miles and looks and runs great. I am buying about $600 a Month in furniture (cash) because I really didn’t have any to fill my 4 bdr, 3 ba, family room home. I do have 80K in avaiable credit in credit cards all with zero balances, I use them for free gas, airline tickets and cash back and never pay a cent in interest, I save $1100per Month in savings and 650 in long term savings S/B/I. I just now got to the point where I have 6 Months of income saved like the experts say to do. Utilities are around 360 per month, food about $410 per Month. I get enough free gas cards so I never pay for gas, $275 misc expences. So spend $4885 & make
$5730.

When my furniture is done..I’ll get a new car
any suggestions?

A charity group in my area is offering free gas cards for low-income families? Do you think this is wrong?

Instantpainrelief2008 asked:

I think this approach is wrong because it encourges our dependence on foreign oil and helps keep gas prices high. The correct approach would be to give away free mass transit passes. This would encourage conservation and lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Those living outside the mass transit area should be encouraged to move to within the mass transit area and be given housing assistance.
