Boy, I bet you’re glad you didn’t go looking for a telephone. It probably would have had this big round thing with holes in, and the numbers in the holes. How does THAT work. Especially since your cell phone said No Signal. See, there used to be this stuff called paper money, and these little metal discs called coins, and everybody used to use them for everything !
It’s probably best for your safety and sanity that you don’t venture out of the city any more. There is a lot of weird and wonderful stuff out there, but it can be pretty scary if you’re not prepared !

Didn’t they have a fillin’ station Attendant? You know, the Goober who pumps the gas, checks the oil & water, and washes your windshield FOR YOU? Betcha you could have driven away w/o paying…heck, THEY probably had a hand crank/ operator or DIAL phone!
