The other day I got gas and the station “forgot” to charge my credit card? Has this ever happened to you?

I filled up EXACTLY the same way as I have for quite a while, lol, they just totally did NOT charge my credit card (this was 4 days ago and it hasn’t shown up on my online banking statement!) So I got FREE gas!!!!!!

Maybe. But there’s a good chance that the clerk behind the counter had to pay for your “free” gas. If we had shortages when I was a pump jockey, we got charged for them. This keeps the clerk from “accidently” forgetting to charge a buddy for a tank of gas now and then.

Some of these people are living on pretty low incomes. If it bothers you that you might have cost someone a decent chunk of change that they can’t afford to lose, you’ll go back to that station and ask about this.

    Karma, ****….

Well, Lucky you is all I can say. Not much in this world is free, so love it when you get it!

Ralfcode is really trying to make you feel bad huh. Even though its been 4 days it can still show up later so wait a little

It’s possible however some gas stations don’t charge the amount of gas purchased for several days. Some around here will charge $1.00 and it’ll sit on my pending purchase list for days and then evenetually go through for the correct amount. There’s even a gas station around here that holds $100 on your account until the right amount clears…don’t know why people keep using them. I would wait a few more days (5-7 bussiness days) before spending that money just to be sure.

That did happen to me once. When I realized what had happened I went back to the place and paid what I owed. I wasn’t that desperate for a free tank of gas that I had to rip someone off.

It is likely that you did not pay by credit properly (Or it just hasnt appeared on your bill yet which is pretty common since it is only 4 days), when I worked at a gas station people did it all the time, so we called the cops a lot since there are cameras that get the plate, anyways if the credit was denied, the computer still gets the card number, so you can easily be traced.

If you are a regular customer they probably decided to just bring it up next time they see you instead of getting the police involved. Or they are waiting for your card to clear and they will key in your card number themselves
